Old Man of the Mountain

The Old Man is gone. On May 3, 2003, during the night the Old Man slipped off his perch on the side of Cannon Mountain and fell to the rocks below. It was over in an instant, but the memories will last for a lifetime. He use to look over Franconia Notch, a natural stone formation that still is the state symbol. It was held in place with steel cables and turnbuckles but time finally caught up with it.
