From Whiteface
Passaconaway - 4060'
Passaconaway is named for a chief of the Penacock Indians who lived in the area in the 1600's. The wooded summit is located on a small spur trail off the Dicey's Mill Trail, but there are several views just before and after. The closest major peak is Whiteface, connected by the Rollins trail.
The most common approach is the Dicey's Mill Trail which comes up from the Ferncroft parking area. Also from there you can take the Wonalancet Range and Walden Trails to make a loop. Access to the peak from the Kancamagus Highway is via the Oliverian Brook Trail and the Passaconaway Cutoff. A common loop from Ferncroft takes you up the Blueberry Ridge Trail to Whiteface, then across the ridge on the Rollins Trail to Passaconaway, then back down Dicey's Mill Trail to Ferncroft. Camp Rich, a small log shelter just below the summit, has been removed. The trails in this area are maintained by the Wonalancet Out Door Club.

- Ferncroft - This parking area is down a short dirt road off of NH Rt 113A, where the main road takes a 90 degree turn by a white church. The parking area is .5 miles down the dirt road, on the right. A WMNF parking pass is required.
